Trump Issues Warning To New Yorkers
President Donald Trump shocked the political world Monday by calling on New York City voters to back former Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the mayoral race — a bold move meant to stop the rise of radical socialist Zohran Mamdani, who’s leading in the polls.
Trump, never one to hold back, made the dramatic endorsement on Truth Social just one day before Election Day, saying New Yorkers “have no choice” but to vote for Cuomo to prevent a total collapse of the city’s economy and safety.
“Whether you personally like Andrew Cuomo or not, you really have no choice. You must vote for him and hope he does a fantastic job. He’s capable of it — Mamdani is not!” Trump wrote.

The President, a proud native New Yorker, warned that a Mamdani victory would destroy the city as we know it. He also cautioned Republicans against dividing the vote by supporting Curtis Sliwa, arguing that doing so would hand the election to the far left.
“As President, it’s my duty to protect this Nation — and it’s my conviction that New York City will face a complete and total economic and social disaster under Mamdani,” Trump said. “His socialist principles have failed every time, everywhere they’ve been tried.”
Trump added that he would rather see a Democrat with a proven record of leadership win than “a radical leftist with zero experience and a record of total failure.”

President Trump made it clear that if Mamdani wins, New York City risks losing critical federal support. The President said he will not allow taxpayer money to bankroll “failed socialist experiments” that destroy jobs and drive away families.

According to Decision Desk HQ’s latest polling average, Mamdani leads with 44.6%, followed by Cuomo at 31.6% and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa at 18.6%. Tens of thousands of New Yorkers have already voted early.
Mamdani, who previously beat Cuomo in the Democratic primary, has tried to strike a softer tone, saying he’d “work with Trump” to lower living costs — but vowed to “fight back” if the President cuts off funding to the city.
