Trump absolutely deserves an apology.
In a heated dispute that’s grabbing national attention, former President Donald J. Trump is calling out Maine Governor Janet Mills for her continued silence over the growing transgender athlete controversy.
In a Truth Social post early Saturday morning, President Trump said he has yet to hear a word from Mills following their public clash last month over biological males competing in women’s sports — an issue that’s sparking outrage among parents, athletes, and conservatives across the country.
“The State of Maine may have apologized for their Governor’s harsh and completely inaccurate statement made during the White House Governors Conference,” Trump wrote, “but we have not heard directly from the Governor herself — and she’s the one who truly matters.”
Trump went on to demand a “full-throated apology” and a clear promise from Mills to never again challenge federal law when it comes to protecting women’s sports.
“This case cannot be resolved until she does the right thing. I believe she can. Thank you for your attention — and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” he added.
USDA Halts, Then Restores Funding Over Trans Policy
The conflict escalated after the U.S. Department of Agriculture temporarily suspended funding to the University of Maine System, a network of eight public colleges, due to its noncompliance with Trump’s executive order.
The order, which is widely supported by conservative voters, prohibits biological males from participating in female sports — a move designed to defend fairness and integrity in women’s athletics.
After public outcry and national media attention, the USDA confirmed that Maine is now in full compliance. Funding has since been reinstated.
Conservative Lawmaker Silenced Over Social Media Post
Adding fuel to the fire, conservative State Rep. Laurel Libby was censured earlier this month after naming an underage transgender athlete in a social media post. The Democrat-led legislature, including Speaker Ryan Fecteau, stripped her of voting and speaking rights, silencing her ability to serve her constituents.
Libby, refusing to back down, has filed a lawsuit to restore her rights. She has made it clear: she will not apologize, unless her censure is fully dropped.
“I was elected to represent the people of my district. I won’t be bullied into silence,” Libby said.
A Clear Message from Trump: Protect Women’s Sports
For millions of Americans — especially concerned parents, grandparents, and former athletes — this issue hits home. As the Biden administration continues to push radical gender policies, Trump is once again standing firm to protect girls’ and women’s sports from what many see as unfair and dangerous overreach.
