Biden Claims To Be Homeless
On Sunday, President Biden made a statement during his visit to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, clarifying that he wasn’t on vacation and currently didn’t have a home to go to suggesting that he was homeless.
According to Fox, after attending Mass at St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church, President Biden spontaneously addressed reporters and explained that his weekend trip was not a leisurely vacation, as reported by The Associated Press. Despite having two residences in Delaware, he primarily resides at the White House but frequently spends weekends in his home state.
“I don’t have a home to return to,” Biden conveyed to the reporters.
The President disclosed that the U.S. Secret Service was working to enhance the security of his long-standing primary residence in Wilmington, Delaware, in a positive manner. Consequently, he hadn’t stayed there for several months.
“So, when I come to Delaware, I don’t have a place to stay, except here, at the moment,” he stated, referring to his Rehoboth Beach residence. “I’m only here for one day.”
Back in April, Biden initially informed reporters about the security upgrades to his Wilmington home following a visit to his beach house after traveling to Ireland.
President Biden arrived at the Delaware coast on Saturday night, having previously visited Florida on the same day to assess the damage caused by Hurricane Idalia. Originally, his plans were to spend the Labor Day weekend at his Rehoboth Beach home, but he changed them due to the recent storm.
Two weeks before, the First Family enjoyed a vacation in the Lake Tahoe region of Nevada. Biden has faced regular criticism from the Republican National Committee and GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill for his weekend trips away from the White House.
When reporters encountered the President on Sunday, they inquired whether he was implying that he was homeless, according to The AP. Biden responded, “No, I’m not homeless. I have one home—a beautiful home. I’m down here for the day because I can’t go to my primary residence right now.”
