On Friday, Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) stated that any decision to initiate a formal impeachment inquiry against President Biden would require a complete House vote. He emphasized the gravity of such a move, dismissing the idea of Republicans proceeding without collective agreement.

“Initiating an impeachment inquiry is a grave step, and House Republicans recognize its significance and won’t use it as a political tool. It’s essential for the public to have a voice in this through their elected officials,” McCarthy shared with Breitbart News. “Therefore, should we decide to embark on this path, it will be determined by a collective vote in the House, not by a single individual’s proclamation.”
