Hunter Takes Trump To Court

A lawyer representing Hunter Biden has sent a cease-and-desist letter to the legal team of former President Trump, expressing concerns about the potential danger Trump’s rhetoric poses to Biden and his family. The letter, reported by ABC News, was sent on Thursday and argues that Trump’s speeches on social media and other platforms could result in harm to Biden or his family.

According to The Hill, Abbe Lowell, the attorney, highlighted specific instances where Trump’s statements allegedly incited violence, including the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, and the attack on Paul Pelosi, the spouse of former House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

Lowell emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, “This is not a false alarm. We are just one such social media message away from another incident, and you should make clear to Mr. Trump — if you have not done so already — that Mr. Trump’s words have caused harm in the past and threaten to do so again if he does not stop.”

During the 2020 presidential campaign, Trump consistently criticized Hunter Biden, making numerous accusations against him. Recently, he also voiced his disapproval of the plea deal that Biden is expected to accept, wherein he would plead guilty to two minor tax offenses and acknowledge the facts related to a gun charge through a pretrial diversion program.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Wow! The corrupt Biden DOJ just cleared up hundreds of years of criminal liability by giving Hunter Biden a mere ‘traffic ticket.’ Our system is BROKEN!”

Furthermore, Trump suggested that the cocaine found in the White House could only belong to Hunter Biden or President Biden himself, referencing Hunter’s past struggles with drug addiction and subsequent recovery.

ABC News reported that Lowell refuted Trump’s allegations, asserting that Trump’s legal team is aware that Hunter Biden has not been accused of possessing the cocaine and that the Biden family was not present at the White House when it was discovered. The Secret Service concluded its investigation into the matter without identifying a suspect.

While Lowell indicated that Trump’s representatives are not obligated to respond, he urged them to communicate to Trump that his incitement could cause harm to others and potentially lead to additional legal repercussions for himself.
