A major confrontation between President Donald Trump and some of America’s biggest news organizations intensified Monday as Fox News Media, ABC News, CBS News, CNN and NBC News suspended their participation in the White House television pool.
The dramatic move came after the Trump administration barred CNN, MS NOW and Politico from White House grounds, accusing the outlets of publishing what the president calls “fake news.”
The fight has quickly grown into a major dispute over White House press access, presidential authority and First Amendment protections — and now federal courts are being asked to intervene.
Fox News Joins Major Networks in White House Coverage Protest
CNN had been scheduled to handle television pool coverage of the White House on Monday.
