Trump has a new word for Democrats.
President Donald Trump used Memorial Day to honor America’s fallen heroes while also delivering a fiery message aimed at Democrats and establishment Republicans over ongoing negotiations with Iran.
In a series of Truth Social posts early Monday morning, Trump introduced a new nickname for his political opponents, referring to them as “Dumocrats” while defending his administration’s handling of foreign policy and national security.
The president’s comments quickly sparked reactions online as supporters praised his tough stance and critics pushed back against the rhetoric.
Trump Defends America First Foreign Policy
Trump began his Memorial Day message by recognizing the sacrifices made by U.S. military service members and veterans who gave their lives defending the country.
“Happy Memorial Day to all,” Trump wrote, while also criticizing what he described as political figures who “disrespect our Military” and undermine recent American successes abroad.
The president later expanded on those remarks by targeting critics of the administration’s ongoing discussions with Iran.
According to Trump, many of the loudest voices attacking the potential agreement do not fully understand the negotiations currently taking place behind closed doors.
Trump mocked his critics on Truth Social, saying many “Dumocrats, establishment Republicans, and political insiders” have no understanding of the potential Iran agreement currently being discussed.
Iran Negotiations Continue To Draw Attention
Iran talks reportedly dominated much of the White House agenda over the weekend as administration officials worked to determine whether a framework agreement could be finalized in the coming days.
Despite speculation surrounding the negotiations, Trump emphasized that his administration would not rush into any arrangement that fails to protect American interests.
“The deal with Iran will either be a great and meaningful one, or there will be no deal,” Trump stated.
The president also stressed that any future agreement would be dramatically different from the Obama-era nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Trump has repeatedly criticized the 2015 agreement, arguing that it allowed Iran too much flexibility while doing little to permanently stop the regime’s nuclear ambitions.
During his first term, Trump pulled the United States out of the Iran nuclear agreement and restored heavy sanctions on Tehran under his administration’s “maximum pressure” strategy.
Conservatives Raise Concerns Over Iran Talks
The possibility of a new agreement has created debate among conservatives and foreign policy experts.
Some Republican lawmakers and national security hawks have expressed concerns that Iran could receive major concessions without giving enough in return.
Meanwhile, some Democrats have suggested the rumored framework resembles parts of the Obama administration’s earlier nuclear agreement.
Senior White House officials reportedly remain optimistic about the direction of negotiations. According to administration sources, Iranian leadership may have agreed in principle to parts of a broader peace framework involving reductions to enriched uranium stockpiles.
Still, Trump made it clear that his administration will only support a deal that strengthens America’s position and protects U.S. allies in the Middle East.
Trump Keeps Focus On Strength And Patriotism
For many supporters, Trump’s Memorial Day message reinforced themes that have defined much of his political movement: strong borders, military pride, aggressive foreign policy, and opposition to Washington’s political establishment.
The president’s remarks also highlighted the sharp contrast between his America First agenda and the policies promoted by many Democrats and longtime establishment figures in Washington.
As negotiations with Iran continue, Trump appears determined to frame the debate around strength, leverage, and national security — themes that continue to resonate strongly with conservative voters across the country.
