Jon Stewart For President?

Media figure Charlamagne tha God is now floating former TV host Jon Stewart as a potential Democratic presidential contender for 2028—while casting serious doubt on Kamala Harris’s chances of a political comeback.

In a new interview with Lara Trump set to air Saturday, Charlamagne said, “I would love to see Jon Stewart run in 2028.” He described Stewart as a rare celebrity who “actually knows what he’s talking about,” claiming the comedian could appeal to a broad swath of voters.

However, despite his praise for Stewart, Charlamagne admitted that President Donald Trump simply resonates more deeply with the American public. Reflecting on his past interview with then-candidate Harris, Charlamagne said her campaign was “dead” until President Biden dropped out. Even then, he said Trump’s message had more staying power with voters across the country.

“Trump connects with people in a way no Democrat can,” Charlamagne acknowledged—an admission many on the Left don’t want to hear.

Charlamagne floated the idea of a Jon Stewart–Stephen Colbert ticket in 2028, joking that Colbert may be available since CBS is pulling the plug on The Late Show after a 32-year run. Colbert has spent years mocking President Trump and recently criticized his own network for settling with Trump over a $16 million lawsuit.

Stewart, too, has taken repeated shots at President Trump in recent months, calling for political retaliation against Trump-era policies. Critics argue that such rhetoric does little to unite the nation and only highlights the growing hostility of the Left toward conservative values.

While liberal elites might cheer for another entertainer-turned-candidate, many Americans—especially older voters who lived through years of failed leadership—are far less amused.

“We don’t need another late-night liberal in the White House,” one conservative voter said. “We need strength, leadership, and someone who puts America First.”

As speculation swirls around 2028, one thing is clear: President Trump remains the dominant force in American politics, no matter how many celebrities the Left trots out to replace him.
