Graham Throws Trump Under This Bus
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is standing firm behind President Donald Trump’s national security team, following reports of a military planning leak that occurred in a private group chat. Graham acknowledged the situation involved “very sensitive information”, but called it a “lesson learned,” not a crisis.
“While this wasn’t a disclosure of detailed war plans, the messages contained classified information related to an active U.S. military operation,” Graham said Wednesday. “Lessons learned.”
Private Group Chat Sparks Media Frenzy
The controversy stems from an encrypted Signal app group chat, where top Trump administration officials—including JD Vance, Pete Hegseth, and Mike Waltz—discussed an upcoming military strike on Houthi targets in Yemen.
That operation occurred on March 15.
Shockingly, Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, was accidentally added to the chat. Goldberg, a vocal critic of President Trump and a veteran of the liberal media establishment, later revealed the private communications.
Graham Rejects Media Narrative, Defends Trump Team
While Democrats and left-wing pundits quickly pounced on the news, Sen. Graham pushed back, stressing this was not a national security failure—but rather a technology mishap with no damage to U.S. operations.
“I fully support all members of President Trump’s national security team,” Graham stated. “They’re doing essential work to protect our country.”
White House Stays Silent, Critics Seize Opportunity
Despite the nature of the leak, the Trump administration has refused to cave to media pressure. Officials maintain that the use of secure messaging was appropriate, and that the mission’s success speaks for itself.
Meanwhile, critics are asking why someone like Goldberg—a figure with deep ties to the legacy media—was even capable of being looped into such a private discussion.
Strong Leadership in Uncertain Times
Graham, a longtime member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and a military veteran, is no stranger to national security concerns. As he prepares for re-election in 2026, his record of supporting the U.S. military and defending strong leadership continues to resonate with voters.
For conservatives concerned about national defense, deep state overreach, and media manipulation, this incident is a clear reminder of the challenges facing any administration willing to put America First.
