Here’s when the border wall will likely be completed.

On Wednesday, Vice President JD Vance shared that President Trump aims to complete the construction of a full, physical border wall along the entire U.S.-Mexico border by the end of his second term.

During his remarks in Eagle Pass, Texas—a critical location for illegal border crossings and human trafficking during the Biden administration—Vance highlighted that Trump’s goal is clear: finish the border wall, ensuring security for the American people. Vance explained, “I think the president’s hope is that by the end of the term we build the entire border wall, the physical structure that will keep our nation secure.”

Vance’s comments were made as he toured the southern border with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. The Vice President also noted the importance of combining traditional infrastructure with modern technology to tackle illegal immigration. He praised the use of cutting-edge artificial intelligence tools to enhance border security, including cameras that can detect potential illegal crossings from miles away. “These technologies are revolutionizing our ability to secure the border,” Vance stated. “Artificial intelligence and surveillance systems are making border enforcement smarter and more efficient.”

Trump’s commitment to border security began on Day One of his first term, issuing an executive order that mandated the construction of both temporary and permanent barriers. His administration successfully built over 450 miles of wall, with plans in place for another 300 miles before the 2020 election. Unfortunately, President Biden halted the project upon taking office, despite the availability of materials already purchased with taxpayer dollars. Under Biden, these materials were left unused, with some even being auctioned off for pennies on the dollar, as reported in the final weeks of his term. However, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton took legal action to prevent the sale of these materials, ensuring that they could still be used to finish the wall.

Trump’s promise to complete the border wall reflects his commitment to protecting American sovereignty and security. It is clear that, for the safety and well-being of all citizens, securing our southern border remains a priority for the upcoming administration.
