Media Blinded By Trump Hate?

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt made it clear that the mainstream media holds a deep-seated bias against President Trump, which taints their reporting. In an appearance on My View with Lara Trump on Fox News, Leavitt responded to a question about how she prepares to face a media environment that’s openly hostile towards the president. She confidently stated that she looks forward to these briefings, embracing the chance to bring the facts to light, despite the biased narratives the press often pushes.

Leavitt pointed out that the mainstream media has consistently allowed its anti-Trump bias to cloud its reporting, which has resulted in distorted portrayals of the president and his administration. According to her, journalists often enter the briefing room with preconceived ideas, ignoring the principles of journalistic integrity in favor of pursuing their own narratives. She emphasized that her role is to discern the truth from the misleading or false narratives presented by the media and to ensure the public receives accurate information.

President Trump has long criticized the media for its biased and often misleading coverage. He has famously called out outlets for pushing “fake news” and labeled them an “enemy of the people.” This sentiment has fueled ongoing tensions between his administration and the press, particularly after the White House took action against The Associated Press. The AP was banned from Air Force One and the Oval Office after it refused to refer to the body of water as the “Gulf of America,” following President Trump’s request to change the traditional name “Gulf of Mexico.”

The administration has defended its stance, with Leavitt explaining that they will hold media outlets accountable when they push false narratives. Under President Trump, the White House also sought to engage with alternative media channels, including podcasters and content creators, who they believe offer a more honest, less biased perspective than traditional outlets.
