Trump Reveals Musk’s Actual Title
President Donald Trump recently addressed questions about Elon Musk’s involvement with the White House and his role within government efficiency initiatives, particularly in relation to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Trump praised Musk as a “patriot” who has made substantial contributions to America through his efforts in cost-cutting and advancing technological innovation.
“Elon is, to me, a patriot,” Trump told reporters. “You can call him whatever you want—whether it’s an employee or consultant—but his impact on this country speaks for itself.” The president emphasized that Musk’s dedication to improving government efficiency and his commitment to American success made him a valuable ally, regardless of any formal title.
Musk, although serving as a senior adviser within the White House Office, holds no direct authority to make decisions on behalf of the government. A court filing from Joshua Fisher, director of the White House Office of Administration, confirmed that Musk has no formal governmental decision-making power, but his advisory role continues to be influential.
Trump further explained his trust in Musk’s judgment, particularly in reference to the team behind DOGE. “I asked Elon about DOGE, and he said the people involved are brilliant, passionate about technology, and they love their country,” Trump remarked. “It’s simple—these are people who want to make America better.”
When questioned about potential conflicts of interest between Musk’s private ventures, such as SpaceX, and the federal government, Trump reassured reporters that any issues would be addressed. “If there’s any conflict, Elon knows he can’t be involved. I’ve told him, anything related to space or contracts, you can’t participate,” Trump clarified, underscoring his commitment to transparency and integrity in government operations.
In addition, Trump discussed broader issues surrounding government waste, particularly within Social Security. He shared troubling claims that millions of Social Security checks are being issued to individuals who have either passed away or are well beyond a reasonable age. “We have a very corrupt system, and it’s a shame, but we’re fixing it,” Trump said, expressing his ongoing efforts to root out fraud and inefficiency.
Musk, alongside White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, has recently spoken out about rampant fraud within the Social Security system, emphasizing that deceased individuals continue to receive benefits. This issue has gained significant attention, particularly after the Social Security Administration’s acting leader stepped down over requests from DOGE to access recipient data, which she declined to provide.
These remarks highlight Trump’s commitment to tackling corruption, streamlining government processes, and fostering innovation through trusted figures like Elon Musk.
