Is Trump's DOGE More Efficient Than The Government?

Kinzinger Reacts To Musk’s Actions

Former Representative Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) has expressed frustration with the apparent inaction of the Democrat party in response to the growing influence of tech mogul Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). According to Kinzinger, Democrats seem “surprised and flat-footed” as Musk continues to push boundaries within the federal government.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kinzinger remarked, “I’m old enough to remember when we had three branches of government,” followed by a critical jab at the situation: “Forget checks and balances. I guess we are a Muskocracy now.” His comment reflects his concern about the increasing centralization of power and the lack of oversight by the traditional branches of government.

Kinzinger didn’t stop there. He doubled down in a follow-up post, emphasizing that the Democrats were the “ONLY political opposition” in this new landscape. He pointed out that they had months to prepare for Musk’s disruptive moves and yet appeared caught off guard. This lack of preparedness, Kinzinger believes, highlights the party’s ineffectiveness in managing emerging power dynamics.

In recent weeks, Musk, through DOGE, has infiltrated various government agencies, gaining unprecedented access to sensitive data. This includes acquiring information from the Office of Personnel Management and the Department of the Treasury. Tensions have flared, with top officials at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) being placed on administrative leave for resisting Musk’s requests for classified materials.

Further compounding the drama, Treasury Department official David Lebryk resigned after a conflict over Musk’s demand for access to the government’s payment system. This clash signals the growing friction between the traditional government structures and Musk’s tech-driven influence.

Kinzinger, a former Republican voice, has called on House Democrats to act, suggesting they stop sitting idly by. In a video on X, he challenged them to show some initiative: “Send members of Congress to investigate, stand up to Musk’s influence, and challenge them. Your message is your weapon—use it!” Kinzinger’s frustration with the Democrats’ passive stance reflects his growing concern over the balance of power in Washington, especially as tech billionaires like Musk continue to shape the future of American governance.
