Trump Clears Up Rumors About Elon Musk Interview

Former President Donald Trump recently addressed concerns regarding his interview with X owner Elon Musk, which some viewers found problematic due to perceived issues with his voice.

On Monday evening, Trump engaged in a highly anticipated discussion with Musk on X. Following the live event, which was marred by technical difficulties, some listeners noted that Trump’s voice seemed slightly off. While a segment of the audience felt the former president’s speech appeared slurred, others found no issue. In response, Trump clarified on Truth Social the next day that the technological tools used during the interview inadvertently altered the quality of his voice.

“Due to the sophisticated nature of today’s technology and cell phone systems, my voice may have sounded different and unusual in some parts of the interview,” Trump explained in his Truth Social post on Tuesday.

Trump, who is the leading Republican candidate for the upcoming election, encouraged his supporters to listen to a revised recording of the interview, which he claimed had corrected the issues with his voice.

“We have released a flawless recording of the interview,” Trump proclaimed. “ENJOY!!!”

In his update, Trump also highlighted that the interview achieved record-breaking viewership. He took the opportunity to criticize the mainstream media for their lack of coverage regarding the event’s historic audience size.

Musk later tweeted that the interview reached a global audience of one billion people. In contrast, media outlets such as The Washington Post, The New York Times, and Politico initially reported that only one million viewers tuned in at the start.

Elon Musk, a prominent figure in the tech industry and founder of SpaceX and Tesla, has recently shifted his political alignment, now endorsing Trump after years of supporting Democrats. During the interview, Musk clarified his position, stating that while he had once supported Democrats, he could not back a further-left administration under Kamala Harris.

Technical issues initially prevented many from accessing the interview, with some viewers encountering a message that the space was unavailable. Musk attributed the problem to a “DDOS” attack, which is a deliberate attempt to overwhelm X with excessive traffic. Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, suggested that the “deep state” might have been behind the technical failures, though she provided no evidence to support this claim.

Once the technical issues were resolved, Trump and Musk proceeded with a two-hour discussion covering a range of topics, including border security, climate change, and foreign policy.

In 2023, Musk faced similar technical challenges during an interview with Governor Ron DeSantis, which Trump had previously criticized as a “DISASTER.” The Vice President Kamala Harris campaign has recently used Trump’s past criticisms of the DeSantis interview to draw parallels with the current situation, as Trump’s campaign continues to push Harris to engage more with the media. Harris, who has yet to sit down for a significant interview since announcing her candidacy, faces criticism for the lack of detailed policy proposals in her campaign. She has pledged to participate in a media interview before the end of August.
