CNN contributor Scott Jennings is suddenly at the center of growing speculation over who President Donald Trump could choose as his next White House press secretary.

According to CNN, Jennings and Wiles recently sat down together at Mastro’s Steakhouse in Washington, D.C., while several White House officials reportedly view Wiles as supportive of Jennings as the search for Leavitt’s successor continues.

A meeting alone does not mean Jennings has been offered the job, and the CNN contributor has not publicly confirmed that he is seeking the position.

Still, his name has continued to gain attention as Leavitt’s departure approaches.

Jennings also praised Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who served as White House press secretary during Trump’s first administration before becoming governor of Arkansas.

“Whoever does that job [has] big shoes to fill,” Jennings said.

Leavitt has served as Trump’s White House press secretary during his second administration and has become one of its most recognizable public figures.

She announced that she will leave the White House at the end of August and return to MAGA Inc., the pro-Trump super PAC where she worked before joining Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.
