Governor Newsom’s Replacement Revealed
Former Congresswoman Katie Porter (D-Calif.) has announced her candidacy for California governor, joining a growing group of Democratic contenders seeking to replace Gov. Gavin Newsom (D). In her campaign launch, Porter reflects on her political journey, explaining that she initially ran for office in 2018 with the goal of holding President Trump accountable. She now says she feels a similar obligation to serve, but this time, her focus is on protecting Californians from what she views as dangerous leadership and corruption.
Porter’s platform highlights several critical issues facing California, including the state’s economy, climate change, rising costs of living, housing shortages, and healthcare. She advocates for fresh ideas and strong leadership to address these challenges, stressing the need for bold action to move California forward. Porter also contrasts her approach with what she sees as the failures of current leadership, positioning herself as a candidate who can bring much-needed change.
Her political career began in 2018, when she defeated Republican Rep. Mimi Walters in California’s 45th Congressional District. After redistricting, Porter was elected to represent the 47th District. In 2024, she ran for U.S. Senate but lost in a nonpartisan primary to Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Republican Steve Garvey. Now, she is shifting her focus to the California governorship.
Porter faces competition from several other notable Democrats, including Eleni Kounalakis, Antonio Villaraigosa, Toni Atkins, and Betty Yee. One of the key uncertainties in the race is whether Vice President Kamala Harris will enter the contest. With her high national profile, Harris could pose a serious challenge, and sources expect her to make a decision by the summer.
For Republicans, this race presents a significant opportunity to take control of the state, which has been under progressive leadership for many years. With a strong field of Democratic contenders, the battle for California’s future promises to be an intense and closely watched contest.
“Would You Still Vote For Trump If Elections Were Held Today?”
the word “ABSOLUTELY” comes to mind! this country’s problem is NOT with President Trump NOR is it with DOGE. it IS with the activist/progressive judges and politicians (BOTH sides of the aisle) who’s rulings/actions are in violation with the US Constitution.
Porter is a far left party hack that would be just as destructive as Newsom
