Insider Gives New Details On Trump’s Feud With Harvard
Washington, D.C. – President Donald Trump is sending a clear message to elite institutions: taxpayer dollars will no longer fund radical agendas. Harvard University is now the focal point of that campaign, facing massive funding cuts and federal investigations after refusing to reform its woke policies.
Former Harvard President Larry Summers, a Democrat and Clinton-era official, admitted over the weekend that the Trump administration is applying pressure that the Ivy League can’t ignore.
“I think Trump’s end game is to get Harvard to bend the knee,” Summers told CBS News.
That pressure includes a $2 billion cut to Harvard’s federal funding, threats to revoke the school’s tax-exempt status, and a sweeping investigation into foreign money flowing into the university.
White House: No More Taxpayer Funding for Leftist Indoctrination
According to the Trump administration, Harvard is failing the American people. The school has refused to address ongoing antisemitism, pushed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, and maintained admissions and hiring practices that many say discriminate against conservatives and merit-based applicants.
“Harvard has a big problem with antisemitism. It has a big problem with too many progressives and not enough conservatives. It has a big problem with identity politics,” Summers said.
Trump’s move comes at a time when many Americans are demanding accountability from taxpayer-funded institutions. Why should public money support a university that silences conservative voices and promotes radical ideologies?
Harvard Strikes Back—But Is It Too Late?
Harvard has filed a lawsuit challenging the administration’s funding cuts and is fighting back against efforts to revoke its nonprofit status. The university claims such actions are illegal, even as it admits to serious problems on campus.
In response to public outrage, Harvard now says it will create new programs to support “viewpoint diversity.” But many Trump supporters see that as too little, too late.
While Summers acknowledged Harvard’s deep ideological imbalance, he criticized the Trump administration’s methods—calling them “extortion.”
“The law requires hearings and notice,” Summers said. “You can’t just cut off all funding based on a set of conditions.”
But for millions of Americans, that’s exactly what they want: results, not excuses.
Trump’s Message: Reform or Be Defunded
The Trump administration has drawn a firm line—if elite universities won’t fix the problem, then taxpayer dollars will be pulled immediately. That includes funds for medical and cancer research, which Summers warned could be slowed by the cuts.
Still, conservatives argue the root problem is clear: Harvard and schools like it have become political training camps for the far left.
President Trump’s bold actions signal that America’s institutions are not above accountability—especially when they rely on taxpayer funding while promoting censorship, antisemitism, and anti-American values.
