Democrats Create ICE Free Zones
Chicago’s far-left Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) just took another shocking step in his war on law enforcement. On Monday, Johnson signed an executive order banning federal immigration agents from using any city-owned property — including parking lots, warehouses, and even vacant land — for immigration enforcement.
The order specifically targets U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), prohibiting officers from staging, processing, or running operations anywhere on city grounds. Johnson gave city departments five days to comply and demanded that employees report anyone who helps federal agents.
Even worse, the order urges private businesses and nonprofits to follow the same “no cooperation” policy.
Defying Federal Law — and Common Sense
This all comes as ICE carries out “Operation Midway Blitz,” a federal crackdown targeting illegal migrants with criminal records across Chicago.
But instead of supporting law and order, Mayor Johnson and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D) have denounced the operation, accusing the federal government of “overreach.”
“We will not tolerate ICE agents violating our residents’ constitutional rights,” Johnson said. He even accused federal agents of using tear gas and detaining a city alderperson during an enforcement action.
Critics say Johnson’s statement ignores the fact that federal agents are enforcing the law — while Chicago leaders are protecting criminals who shouldn’t be here in the first place.
DHS Fires Back: ‘Reckless and Dangerous’
Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), blasted the mayor’s order as reckless and dangerous, accusing Johnson of “demonizing ICE officers” who risk their lives every day to protect American citizens.
“He refused to allow local police to help when a violent mob attacked our agents,” McLaughlin said. “While he keeps releasing rapists, gang members, and murderers back onto the streets, our officers — unpaid — continue risking everything to keep Chicago safe.”
The White House also condemned Johnson’s actions in a rare, blistering statement:
“This executive order is a disgusting betrayal of every law-abiding citizen. Shielding violent illegal aliens from justice is an insult to every Chicagoan and every American.”
ICE Continues Operation Amid Violence
Despite opposition from Democrat leaders, ICE confirmed more than 1,000 arrests since the Chicago operation began. Federal officials said many of those detained were convicted criminals, including gang members and repeat offenders.
Yet the arrests triggered left-wing protests across the city. Over the weekend, two people were charged after attacking federal officers outside an ICE facility in Broadview, Illinois. One was shot after allegedly assaulting an agent.
Meanwhile, Chicago’s leadership doubled down. Johnson recently signed another order instructing city police to “work with protest organizers” if federal law enforcement interferes — effectively telling police to stand down during demonstrations.
Law and Order vs. Sanctuary Chaos
Critics warn that Johnson’s “sanctuary city” obsession is putting law-abiding families in danger while sending a message that criminal aliens are welcome. Chicago continues to struggle with violent crime, open drug use, and collapsing public safety, yet its mayor seems more focused on protecting non-citizens than protecting taxpayers.
“This is what happens when radical policies meet real-world consequences,” one former ICE official told reporters. “Sanctuary cities don’t make America safer — they make it weaker.”
As border enforcement remains a national crisis, Chicago’s latest decision highlights the growing divide between Democrat-run sanctuary cities and Americans who still believe in law, order, and accountability.
Bottom Line
Mayor Brandon Johnson’s executive order doesn’t just ban ICE from city property — it bans common sense. While hardworking police officers and federal agents risk their lives daily, Chicago’s leadership is doubling down on politics over public safety.
As violent crime soars and illegal immigrants flood into U.S. cities, this battle between law enforcement and liberal sanctuary policies is only heating up.
And for millions of Americans watching from across the country — it’s clear who’s standing for safety, and who’s standing in the way.
“Would You Vote For Trump In 2028?”
as much as i like President Trump, i’d have to vote “No”, but NOT because of what this poll implies (ie, vote “yes” because you approve of his actions or “no” because you disapprove).
my reason for having to vote “No” on this poll is TOTALLY dependent on the fact that i hold the US Constitution as the supreme law of the land and it states that a president is limited to only 2 terms. this Amendment is a GOOD Amendment and really should be extended out to ALL elected officials.
