Trump Team Makes Major Judge Decision

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has authorized up to 600 military lawyers to step in as temporary immigration judges — a decisive move to support President Trump’s effort to confront the growing border crisis.

According to a memo dated August 27, the lawyers will be deployed in groups of 150, drawn from both military ranks and civilian positions. The first wave is expected to be identified within days. Assignments will initially run for 179 days but can be extended as needed.

This emergency move comes at the direct request of the Justice Department, which has been drowning under a tidal wave of illegal immigration cases. The massive backlog has fueled chaos in the courts and left American taxpayers on the hook for endless delays.

When pressed for comment, the DOJ referred questions to the Pentagon. Defense officials, in turn, pointed reporters to the White House.

A White House spokesperson confirmed that President Trump’s administration is exploring every option to restore order — including adding immigration judges and securing more resources for the overwhelmed system. “This must be a national priority,” the official said, noting that both the American people and those waiting for adjudication “deserve results, not more gridlock.”

The decision highlights Trump’s determination to secure the border, enforce immigration law, and put American families first. With millions of cases piling up and communities across the country bearing the consequences of Washington’s failures, the administration is signaling that the era of delay and disorder is over.
