Trump Redirects Biden $300 Million Plan
In a bold move to prioritize results over ideology, the Trump administration has announced the redirection of $365 million in federal funds away from questionable green energy projects in Puerto Rico. Originally granted during the previous administration to support rooftop solar panels and battery storage, the funds will now be used for real-world energy solutions that can deliver results immediately.
For years, Puerto Rico has suffered from an unstable power grid, widespread outages, and the fallout of political mismanagement. In 2017, the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority declared bankruptcy. Since then, a series of devastating hurricanes and failed climate experiments have left millions of U.S. citizens in the dark—literally. Just last month, the island suffered yet another island-wide blackout, followed by an outage impacting more than 134,000 customers.
Now, under the strong leadership of President Donald J. Trump, the Department of Energy is stepping in with common-sense reforms. The agency stated the new plan will bring reliable, affordable power to millions of Americans, rather than waste taxpayer dollars on expensive solar initiatives that only benefit a few.
“American taxpayers deserve real results,” said Energy Secretary Chris Wright, who last week issued an emergency order authorizing the use of oil-burning power plants to stabilize Puerto Rico’s fragile grid. Despite predictable backlash from climate activists, Wright emphasized the urgency of restoring consistent power for hospitals, schools, and senior centers—facilities that can’t afford to wait for idealistic green promises.
The funding, which had been approved in late 2024 with solar construction set for 2026, will now support critical infrastructure upgrades and emergency energy relief. According to the Department of Energy, the redirection ensures a higher return on investment for taxpayers while delivering immediate, measurable improvements.
This latest action reinforces the Trump administration’s commitment to America First energy policies—putting people before politics, reliability before regulation, and common sense before climate alarmism.
