Noem Doubles Down On New Travel Ban
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Monday that, after speaking directly with President Donald Trump, she is preparing to recommend a full, nationwide travel ban on countries that have been sending violent offenders, fraudsters, and entitlement-seekers into the United States.
In a firm statement on X, Noem wrote that America’s founders built this country with “blood, sweat, and an unyielding love of freedom — not for foreign invaders to come here, harm our people, drain our tax dollars, or take benefits meant for American citizens.” She added bluntly:
“We don’t want them. Not one.”
Trump Pushes for a Permanent Pause on Migration From High-Risk Nations
Noem’s announcement follows President Trump’s pledge last week to “permanently pause” migration from all Third World countries. The move is aimed at restoring national security, protecting American families, and stopping the flow of dangerous individuals who enter the U.S. under weak immigration policies.
Trump’s remarks came on the same day the nation learned about the tragic death of 20-year-old Army National Guard Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, who reportedly died after being shot by an Afghan national in Washington.
The killing has sparked widespread public outrage and renewed calls for strong border enforcement.
DHS Confirms the Travel Ban Ties Back to Trump’s National Security Order
DHS officials said Noem’s comments align with President Trump’s June national security proclamation, which blocks entry to foreign nationals considered a threat to American safety.
Countries Facing a Full Suspension of Entry:
- Afghanistan
- Chad
- Republic of Congo
- Equatorial Guinea
- Eritrea
- Haiti
- Iran
- Libya
- Myanmar
- Somalia
- Sudan
- Yemen
Countries Facing Partial Entry Suspensions:
- Burundi
- Cuba
- Laos
- Sierra Leone
- Togo
- Turkmenistan
- Venezuela
These restrictions target nations with documented terrorism risks, criminal networks, or government instability.
A Strong Message: America Comes First Again
Noem’s endorsement of Trump’s tougher immigration stance signals a powerful shift back toward America-First leadership, prioritizing:
- National security
- Border enforcement
- Protection of U.S. taxpayers
- Defense of American families
For many conservative voters — especially older Americans who value national sovereignty and law-and-order — the call for a full travel ban is seen as overdue.
The administration’s message is clear:
America will protect its borders, its citizens, and its heritage — no exceptions.
