MAGA Loyalists And GOP Reject Trump’s Idea
Prominent conservatives are voicing frustration over a behind-the-scenes effort to derail President Trump’s pick for NASA administrator—entrepreneur and Space Force Reserve pilot Jared Isaacman.
On Saturday, conservative firebrand Laura Loomer sounded the alarm on X, revealing that Washington insiders are pressuring the White House to withdraw Isaacman’s nomination just days before his anticipated confirmation vote.
“A high-level source informed me that Jared Isaacman was on track for a Senate confirmation vote next week,” Loomer posted. “Now, there’s a coordinated effort in D.C. to convince the White House to pull the plug—possibly as early as Monday. It appears Isaacman is being targeted over his personal ties to Elon Musk.”
While speculation swirls, a White House spokesperson made it clear that the next NASA administrator must be in lockstep with President Trump’s “America First” vision for space exploration. The administration confirmed that a new nominee will be announced personally by President Trump in the coming days.
Senator Tim Sheehy (R-MT), a decorated combat veteran and rising conservative leader, stood firmly behind Isaacman. “Jared Isaacman—astronaut, entrepreneur, and patriot—was a strong selection by President Trump. I was honored to introduce him at his confirmation hearing and stand firmly against any effort to sabotage his appointment,” Sheehy posted on X.
President Trump originally tapped Isaacman in December, praising his private spaceflight experience and business leadership as essential to ushering in “a bold new era” at NASA.
Loomer reminded supporters of Isaacman’s impressive track record: “Let’s be clear—Jared may have once leaned left like Elon Musk, but when it comes to space innovation and results, his expertise is unmatched. His nomination is about merit, not politics.”
As the space agency faces crucial decisions on lunar exploration and national security priorities, many conservatives are watching closely to see whether political gamesmanship will override qualifications and loyalty to the Trump agenda.
