Trump Now Targeting Museums

Former President Donald Trump has declared war on the Smithsonian museums in Washington, D.C., accusing them of pushing anti-American narratives instead of celebrating the nation’s greatness.

In a powerful Truth Social post on Tuesday, Trump blasted the Smithsonian as being “out of control,” claiming its exhibits focus too much on slavery and victimhood rather than highlighting the extraordinary accomplishments that made America the greatest nation in history.

“Across Washington and even nationwide, our museums have become the last stronghold of woke ideology,” Trump said. “The Smithsonian has lost its way — every exhibit is about how terrible America supposedly is, how awful slavery was, and how the so-called oppressed never achieved anything. There’s no focus on our triumphs, no celebration of our greatness, and no vision for a brighter future.”

Trump added that he has already instructed his legal team to begin the same reform process at the museums that his administration has successfully implemented with colleges and universities.

“This Country cannot be WOKE, because WOKE IS BROKE,” Trump declared.

White House Review Underway

The Trump White House has now ordered a sweeping review of the Smithsonian’s 21 museums. The directive calls for exhibits to be “aligned” with the President’s vision of restoring American exceptionalism, eliminating divisive narratives, and rebuilding trust in cultural institutions.

Eight museums have been singled out, including:

  • The National Museum of African American History and Culture
  • The National Museum of American History
  • The National Portrait Gallery
  • The National Museum of the American Indian

According to the directive, exhibits that rely on “politically driven” or “divisive” interpretations must be replaced with content that unifies Americans and honors the nation’s legacy of freedom, invention, and progress.

Smithsonian Pushes Back

The Smithsonian quickly issued a statement defending its work, claiming its mission is based on “scholarly excellence” and “factual history.” The institution noted that its 21 museums include topics ranging from slavery to military victories, space exploration, and technological advances.

Still, critics say the Smithsonian has shifted too far left in recent years, focusing excessively on race, grievance, and identity politics instead of uplifting stories of American success.

Part of Trump’s Bigger Fight

This is not the first time Trump has taken on powerful institutions. Since returning to office, he has already confronted universities, law firms, and corporations that have embraced radical “woke” ideology.

Now, the Smithsonian is in his crosshairs — and Trump has made clear that America’s history will not be rewritten by the Left.

For millions of Americans, this is more than a debate over museums. It’s a battle for the soul of the nation, and Trump is once again leading the charge to restore pride in America’s past and confidence in its future.
