Trump Ordered To Stay Out Of Mayoral Race

New York City’s mayoral race is heating up — and GOP candidate Curtis Sliwa is warning President Donald Trump to stay focused on national battles to avoid boosting far-left Democrat Zohran Mamdani.

In an interview with Fox 5 reported by The Washington Examiner, Sliwa urged Trump to keep his attention on America First priorities like securing the border, tackling crime nationwide, and confronting foreign threats.

“Spend your time where it’s needed more — on geopolitical interests that affect all Americans,” Sliwa said. “This election in New York City does not affect all Americans.”

A Crowded Field and a Dangerous Threat

The November race pits Sliwa against Mamdani, current Mayor Eric Adams, and former Governor Andrew Cuomo. Mamdani — a self-proclaimed Democratic socialist — has been called a “communist in disguise” by critics, and his radical agenda is raising alarm among law-and-order voters.

Sliwa, founder of the famous Guardian Angels anti-crime patrol, says every day the race becomes “Trump versus Mamdani” is a win for the socialist’s campaign.

“When Cuomo and Adams argue over who should drop out, it’s another good day for him,” Sliwa warned. “I’m focused on the real issues — safety, jobs, and keeping this city from sliding into chaos.”

Trump-Cuomo Connection Raises Eyebrows

A recent New York Times report revealed Trump and Cuomo have spoken in recent weeks. Sliwa wasn’t shocked. “They’ve been talking for years. Fred Trump supported Mario Cuomo. That’s no secret,” he said.

Mamdani seized on the report to paint himself as the ultimate Trump opponent, even smearing Cuomo as a “jester for a wannabe king.”

Vote Split Could Pave the Way for Socialist Victory

Adams and Cuomo are both running as independents after Mamdani’s primary win, refusing calls to unite behind one candidate. Many fear this could split the anti-Mamdani vote, virtually guaranteeing a socialist takeover of City Hall.

Trump’s team, once cordial with Adams, has cooled toward the mayor as his poll numbers fall.

For conservatives, the stakes couldn’t be higher. With rising crime, soaring taxes, and New York’s future on the line, many are watching closely to see if voters reject Mamdani’s radical vision — or if the city becomes the latest victim of the far left’s urban experiment.
