Is Trump Creating A 'Wall Of Chaos' Like Media Says?

Trump Makes New Endorsement

President Donald J. Trump, now in his second term, has thrown his full support behind Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY), endorsing the rising Republican’s reelection bid in a statement that’s igniting fresh energy in a swing district long targeted by Democrats.

President Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday to praise Rep. Mike Lawler, calling him a “tireless advocate and an outstanding representative for the hardworking citizens of New York’s 17th District.”

Lawler, recognized for prioritizing public safety, tax relief for working families, and strong border enforcement, welcomed the backing. His campaign stated that the congressman “appreciates the President’s endorsement and his dedication to addressing the core concerns facing New Yorkers every day.”

But the congressman may have his eye on an even bigger challenge — reclaiming the governor’s mansion for Republicans in deep-blue New York.

Lawler confirmed to FOX 5 NY that he’s seriously considering a gubernatorial bid in 2026. “We’re looking at the data and determining whether there’s a real path to win,” he said. “I’m not interested in going on a kamikaze mission — if I do it, it’s because I believe victory is within reach.”

New York, a state plagued by skyrocketing crime, illegal immigration, and Democrat-led economic decline, hasn’t elected a Republican governor since 2002. But the tide may be turning.

In 2022, Republican Lee Zeldin came within inches of defeating Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul, delivering one of the closest statewide races in recent memory. That result, combined with a national backlash against Democrat policies, has emboldened GOP leaders to believe a red wave could sweep the Empire State.

Among those considering a run: Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), one of Trump’s closest allies in Congress. After her nomination for U.N. Ambassador fell through, Stefanik told Fox News she’s “strongly considering” jumping into the race.

“Look at the crises that Kathy Hochul and single-party Democrat rule have created — from failed schools and high taxes to rising crime and energy costs,” Stefanik said. “New Yorkers are ready for change.”

Trump also endorsed Bruce Blakeman, the current Nassau County Executive, for reelection — another sign that he’s building a team ready to flip the state red. Blakeman is also rumored to be weighing a run for governor.

Not surprisingly, Democrats are panicking. New York Democrat spokesperson Addison Dick accused Trump of “meddling,” warning that any Republican nominee will be “tied to Trump’s agenda.” But for millions of working-class families in New York, that’s exactly what they want.

Under President Trump’s leadership, Americans saw energy independence, secure borders, booming job growth, and low inflation. Now, with the White House back in Republican hands, Trump is making it clear: he’s coming home to fix New York too.

As the 2026 election cycle heats up, one thing is clear — the Democrat grip on power in New York is crumbling, and Trump’s America First movement is poised for a major breakthrough.
