Trump Takes On Affordability
Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins says President Donald Trump is making affordability his top priority heading into the new year. Her message comes as Democrats and mainstream media try to paint a negative picture of the economy—despite steady improvements in household costs.
During an interview on Fox Business’s “Kudlow,” Rollins revealed how hands-on the president is when it comes to lowering prices.
“Brooke, we’re not having plastic eggs at the White House Easter Egg Roll. Get the price of eggs down,” Trump told her personally.
According to Rollins, the administration delivered—saying egg prices have dropped dramatically.
“In less than ten months, the price of eggs is down 86 percent,” she said. “President Trump has been relentlessly focused on making America affordable again.”
Trump Calls Out “Fake Polls” and Says the Economy Is Strong
President Trump has dismissed negative polling, arguing Democrats are pushing a false narrative to hurt his economic momentum.
“I think polls are fake. We have the greatest economy we’ve ever had,” Trump said in a Fox News appearance earlier this month.
Many conservative voters agree, pointing to the president’s aggressive push to reduce the cost of living—one of the biggest concerns for seniors and families on fixed incomes.
Inflation Pressures Remain—but Trump Policies Are Lowering Key Prices
While some food prices—such as eggs and dairy—have stabilized, others are still reflecting leftover inflation from the Biden years.
• Beef prices are up 14.7%
• Bacon is up 5.8%
• Pork is up 1.6%
Overall inflation has risen 3 percent since September 2024—still above the Fed’s 2 percent target.
But Rollins emphasized that the Trump administration’s policies are working.
Fuel, Housing, and Energy Costs Are Dropping Under Trump
Rollins told Larry Kudlow that Trump is personally directing his economic team to bring relief to American families.
“Fuel is down. Housing and shelter—which account for nearly 40% of the cost of living—are down almost 14 percent year-over-year,” she explained.
She said the entire administration is “hyper-focused” on affordability, cost stability, and easing financial pressure on seniors, retirees, and working families.
“We have a few outliers that we’re addressing right now,” she added. “But the president is incredibly focused on making life more affordable. I think the American people will be very encouraged.”
What This Means for Conservative Voters
For older Americans, affordability remains the top issue. Rollins says the Trump administration will continue driving prices down, stabilizing the economy, and ensuring families feel real relief in 2025.
Her message is clear: President Trump is actively restoring affordability, lowering prices, and rebuilding economic confidence for millions of Americans.
