Democrats Thank Trump For Cracking Down On Russia
Washington, D.C. – President Donald Trump is tightening the screws on Russian aggression, advancing the timeline for a Ukraine ceasefire—and even some Democrats are finally admitting he’s taking the right steps.
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, offered rare praise for Trump’s updated strategy, calling the move a “positive step”—while still criticizing him for not acting sooner.
“Too many innocent lives are at stake for President Trump to let Putin keep dragging things out. This new deadline is better—but overdue,” she said Monday.
Trump Accelerates Ceasefire Clock: No More Games from Putin
Originally, President Trump set a 50-day deadline for Russia to halt its brutal campaign in Ukraine—or face sweeping U.S. sanctions and tariffs. But after more deadly strikes on civilian targets, Trump is done waiting.
“We’re not seeing results. So I’m cutting the deadline. Putin’s out of time,” Trump said at a joint presser with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. “Now I expect a ceasefire within 10 to 12 days.”
Trump’s decision follows reports of missile strikes killing seniors in Kyiv and civilian casualties in nursing homes.
“That’s not how you negotiate peace,” he added. “You don’t kill old people in the street.”
Shaheen Calls for Action, But It’s Trump Who’s Leading
While Shaheen echoed Trump’s frustration, she warned that words aren’t enough—and urged Congress to pass bipartisan sanctions and send stronger military support to Ukraine.
“We must hit the Kremlin where it hurts. Putin won’t back down unless the U.S. shows real strength,” she said.
This marks a dramatic shift in tone from Democrat leaders—many of whom stayed quiet for months as President Biden’s foreign policy stumbled under weak diplomatic efforts.
Medvedev Melts Down, Warns Trump Is ‘Risking War’
Meanwhile, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev took to social media to attack Trump’s strategy, claiming “each new ultimatum is a step toward war—not just with Ukraine, but with the U.S.”
But for Trump supporters, the message is clear: peace through strength works—and America is finally leading again.
🔚 Bottom Line: Trump Takes Action While Biden Flounders
As Biden continues to project weakness on the world stage, President Trump is once again proving that real leadership means setting firm deadlines and following through. Putin may threaten, but America under Trump doesn’t blink.
