Bill Maher Trashes Trump Again
Liberal HBO host Bill Maher launched a fresh round of attacks on President Donald J. Trump this week, mocking the administration’s bold economic policies just 100 days into Trump’s second term. But while coastal elites complain, millions of everyday Americans are standing behind a president who’s finally putting American workers and manufacturers first.
On Friday’s episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, the comedian pointed to recent stock market fluctuations and cherry-picked a single poll showing Trump’s approval rating at 39%. “That’s the lowest 100-day mark for a president in 80 years,” Maher said—ignoring the president’s strong ratings on border security, energy independence, and restoring U.S. manufacturing.
Maher also cited a minor 0.3% dip in GDP during Q1 of 2025 and claimed consumer confidence had slipped. But working-class Americans see something the media refuses to cover: a president unafraid to challenge decades of unfair trade deals and globalist policies that gutted the middle class.
President Trump’s 10% tariff on most foreign imports, part of his “America First” economic doctrine, is already reshaping supply chains, boosting domestic factories, and restoring pride in American-made products. While critics bemoan short-term price adjustments, the long-term goal is clear: end dependence on hostile regimes like China and bring critical industries home.
Maher tried to turn the issue into a joke, referencing Trump’s popular executive order that rolled back federal support for paper straw mandates. “Kind of a high price for getting back plastic straws,” Maher quipped. But for seniors, small business owners, and families living paycheck to paycheck, Trump’s efforts to cut red tape and restore consumer freedom are no laughing matter.
Despite media panic over “Liberation Day”—the rollout of Trump’s new economic policy—markets are adjusting, and industry leaders are already adapting. Some Wall Street analysts have raised concerns about a possible recession, but many agree this disruption is necessary to rebalance America’s trade relationships after decades of abuse.
When asked about recession fears in an upcoming Meet the Press interview, President Trump responded candidly: “Anything can happen.” But he reaffirmed his commitment to American prosperity and pledged to stay the course: “This is about American jobs, American factories, and the American dream.”
While liberal pundits like Maher mock and complain, President Trump is delivering bold leadership. The swamp may not like it—but the people do.
