Trump Accuses Democrats Of What?
President Donald Trump delivered a fiery message on Saturday, declaring that Democrats are “cracking under the pressure” of the ongoing government shutdown. Trump says Democrats fear his growing momentum with Republican lawmakers — especially his push to end the Senate filibuster once and for all.
Trump wrote on Truth Social that Democrats are “falling apart over the shutdown” because they’re terrified he’s gaining ground with Republicans on his push to eliminate the Senate filibuster.
The 45th president said the time has come for Republicans to act boldly:
Trump said that regardless of whether a deal is reached, Republicans should “get rid of the filibuster” and finally deliver the many long-promised conservative victories — citing voter ID as one example — adding that “only a fool would refuse to act.”
The Senate remains gridlocked on the 39th day of the shutdown, with Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) saying senators will stay in session until a deal is reached. While Thune has been cautious about ending the filibuster, many conservatives believe the time for hesitation is over.
Democrats Block Key Funding Bills
On Friday, Senate Republicans blocked a Democrat proposal that would have extended Obamacare subsidies for another year, paired with a so-called “clean” spending bill. Conservatives say Democrats are using the shutdown to protect big-government handouts and delay real fiscal reform.
Meanwhile, Senate Democrats rejected a GOP plan that would have funded military construction, veterans’ programs, and agriculture — priorities that directly support working Americans and the nation’s defense.
The failed Democrat plan, drafted by Sens. Gary Peters (D-Mich.), Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), and Angus King (I-Maine), lacked the votes to move forward — further proof, conservatives say, that Democrats are more interested in political leverage than reopening the government.
Trump: Stop Feeding Insurance Giants, Help the People
President Trump also doubled down on his push to redirect Obamacare funds away from the insurance industry and directly into the hands of everyday Americans.
Trump urged Senate Republicans to redirect the hundreds of billions currently funneled to greedy insurance companies propping up Obamacare, saying those funds should instead go straight to the American people.
He went on to say that lawmakers should take the money from powerful insurance companies, return it to the people, and dismantle what he called the worst healthcare system in the world — Obamacare — while still pushing to eliminate the filibuster.
Trump’s proposal has struck a chord with conservative voters frustrated by Washington’s endless spending and bureaucratic gridlock. His message is clear: cut waste, protect taxpayers, and restore freedom.
A Growing Divide in Washington
As the shutdown drags on, the contrast between the two parties couldn’t be sharper. Democrats demand more spending and cling to Obama-era policies, while President Trump and conservative leaders call for bold reform, voter integrity, and accountability in Washington.
Many Republican voters believe Trump’s no-nonsense approach is exactly what the country needs — a leader unafraid to stand up to the political establishment and fight for America’s future.
