Trump Tears Into Democrats

WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald J. Trump is once again taking aim at Senate Democrats, accusing them of deliberately obstructing the confirmation of his administration’s nominees. In a series of passionate Truth Social posts over the weekend, Trump praised Senate Republicans for continuing to work while exposing what he called “shameless delays” by Democrats.

“I’m incredibly proud of our Republican Senators,” Trump wrote. “They’re working overtime to get my highly qualified nominees confirmed—doing their part to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”

Trump didn’t hold back in his criticism of Democrats, calling their tactics destructive to the country.

“Democrats will delay anyone—Washington, Lincoln—it wouldn’t matter. They don’t want America to succeed because they’ve failed,” Trump declared.

The former president commended Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) and Republican senators for staying in D.C. to address a backlog of over 160 stalled nominations, most for vital lower-level federal roles that support key government operations.

Rule Changes, Recess Appointments Considered to Break the Gridlock

Senator Thune told reporters this week that “everything is on the table,” including rule reforms and recess appointments, to push the nominations forward.

“We need long-term solutions, but in the short term, we’re not taking anything off the table,” Thune said, signaling that the GOP is prepared to act with or without Democratic cooperation.

Some Republican senators have expressed willingness to negotiate a bipartisan deal to confirm a batch of Trump’s picks. But if talks break down, GOP leadership is ready to pursue procedural rule changes—a move requiring nearly unanimous support from the Republican caucus.

Chuck Schumer Under Fire for Political Extortion, Trump Says

Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has defended his party’s stall tactics, claiming Trump’s nominees are unfit for public service.

“We’ve never seen such a flawed group of nominees,” Schumer posted on social media. “They deserve historic levels of scrutiny.”

President Trump swiftly responded, accusing Schumer of “political extortion” for allegedly demanding over $1 billion in unfrozen funding in exchange for allowing a handful of nominations to proceed.

“This is unprecedented and disgraceful,” Trump wrote. “If Republicans accept this offer, it would be a complete embarrassment. Tell Schumer and the Radical Left to GO TO HELL!”

“Explain to voters how Democrats are sabotaging our country. Republicans are doing great work—don’t let this be undermined,” Trump added, urging GOP lawmakers to stand strong during recess and continue the fight to Make America Great Again.
