Trump Ignores Jeffries
Jeffries Complains While White House Stands Tall
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) admitted this week that he hasn’t heard from President Trump since their Monday White House meeting. Jeffries used his CNN appearance to claim that Republicans were “erratic” and “wanted to shut the government down.”
But the truth is clear: Democrats had every chance to keep the government open — and chose politics over the American people.
Shutdown Becomes Reality After Democrats Block Funding
The federal government officially shut down at midnight Wednesday after Congress failed to reach a deal. Lawmakers rejected two different stopgap bills:
- A clean Republican bill to keep funding flowing.
- A Democrat-backed measure loaded with liberal wish-list items.
Democrats once supported simple continuing resolutions under Joe Biden — now they refuse the same approach simply because President Trump is in the Oval Office.
White House Calls Out Democrat Hypocrisy
The Trump administration says the path forward is straightforward.
“The Trump Administration wants a clean CR to continue funding the government — the exact same proposal Democrats supported 13 times under Biden,” White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told The Hill.
In other words, Democrats were fine funding government this way before. Now they’re obstructing simply to damage Trump.
Trump Stands Strong for Fiscal Responsibility
The White House is confident this shutdown fight will backfire on Democrats. Voters see who is blocking funding and holding up paychecks for political theater.
While Jeffries and fellow Democrats complain, President Trump is standing firm — demanding fiscal sanity, protecting taxpayers, and putting America first.
