DOJ Targets Rising Attacks on ICE Officers
The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Saturday that it is actively monitoring violent attacks on federal immigration facilities in Texas and Oregon. The Trump administration, standing firmly on its promise to restore law and order, declared zero tolerance for assaults on federal agents and property.
As illegal immigration remains a growing concern across the country, President Donald Trump is ramping up mass deportation efforts to secure the southern border. In recent weeks, coordinated attacks on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities have surged, with law enforcement now facing unprecedented levels of hostility.
Violent Protests Escalate Amid Border Enforcement Surge
In cities like Los Angeles, protests led by far-left activists against ICE enforcement have grown increasingly violent. In June, demonstrations spiraled out of control, prompting President Trump to authorize the deployment of the National Guard and U.S. Marines to restore peace and support overwhelmed federal agents.
Despite objections from liberal city officials, the Trump administration defended the deployment, citing the need to protect federal immigration facilities and ensure officer safety.
A memo from the White House warned:
“Violent protests are a serious threat to national security and will be met with strong and immediate action.”
DOJ and DHS Issue Stark Warnings
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the DOJ is investigating attacks on immigration detention centers in Prairieland, Texas, and Portland, Oregon.
“The Department has zero tolerance for any attack on federal law enforcement or government property,” Blanche said. “We will prosecute offenders to the full extent of the law.”
Following the DOJ’s statement, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a similar warning:
“Threats or violence against federal officers will NOT be tolerated. Secretary Kristi Noem is committed to ensuring that anyone who targets our law enforcement will be found and prosecuted.”
Shocking Rise in Violence Against ICE Agents
DHS data shows that attacks on ICE officers have skyrocketed—rising nearly 700% over the same period last year. In 2024, only 10 assaults were reported. So far in 2025, that number has jumped to 79 confirmed assaults.
Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin confirmed the raw data:
“From January to June 2025, there were 79 assaults on federal immigration agents—up from just 10 the year before.”
This dramatic increase highlights the dangers faced by officers carrying out the administration’s immigration enforcement policies.
DHS Secretary Noem reinforced the department’s commitment to protecting personnel:
“Our heroic ICE agents are under siege. Let me be clear—anyone who obstructs or assaults a federal officer will be hunted down and face justice.”
Trump Stands Firm: “We Will Hit Back”
In response to the unrest, President Trump addressed the nation in June:
“IF THEY SPIT, WE WILL HIT—harder than ever before. We will not tolerate lawless disrespect toward our brave men and women in uniform.”
As violence continues to rise, the Trump administration is taking bold action to protect its officers, enforce the law, and restore safety across the country.
ICE and DHS will continue executing the President’s deportation directives, while the DOJ ensures those who break the law will be prosecuted—without exception.
Large protestor groups need to be dealt with more harshly. In the 1960’s, law enforcement would surround protest groups with manpower and police dogs, herd the protestors onto buses for the ride to jail. Quick response minimized disruption to traffic and allowed businesses to remain open with minimal property damage. Disruptive members of Congress (AOC, Tlaib, Pressley, Jayapar, Omar, and a few more) need to be removed for ethical reasons and conduct unbecoming a member of Congress. Financiers of corruption like George Soros belong in jail. In fact, the Department of Justice needs to trace foreign money used to undermine nefarious activities in the USA, and lawyers representing nefarious organizations and activities belong before the ethics committees, looking toward disbarment.
