Top Republican Hospitalized
Tennessee Congressman Tim Burchett is proving he’s tougher than a broken rib. Over the weekend, the Republican lawmaker suffered a painful injury on his family farm when he was kicked by a horse, according to a statement from his office.
The 60-year-old representative didn’t just take a hit—he took it in stride. Despite bruising and a fractured rib, Burchett has refused to slow down, keeping every commitment on his packed schedule.
“He hasn’t missed a beat,” said Will Garrett, Burchett’s press secretary. “He spoke in Maury County last night and has a full slate of events this week.”
Burchett, a staunch conservative and vocal supporter of rural values, is well-known for his hands-on approach and no-nonsense attitude. Even with a serious injury, he’s staying focused on serving the people of Tennessee’s 2nd District.
This isn’t the first time the Burchett family has experienced a close call involving horses. Back in 2022, his daughter was hospitalized following an accident while riding.
“We count our blessings because she’s alive,” Burchett said at the time. “She’s a tough little girl—she’ll be back on that horse.”
Burchett’s resilience in the face of adversity reflects the core values many Americans still hold dear—faith, family, and perseverance. As Washington gets more chaotic by the day, it’s refreshing to see a public servant who’s not afraid to get his hands dirty and keep showing up—even with a broken rib.
