2024 Democratic Candidate Revealed?
There has been mass speculation that California Governor who is also Nancy Pelosi’s Nephew Gavin Newsom was going to challenge President Biden in 2024.
Now however it appears that Newsom has decided to bow out of the 2024 presidential race and has endorsed Biden to run again in 2024.
According to Fox, During an interview with Politico Governor Newsom toned down rumors that he was running and said that it was a “considerable” irritation for Biden and the White House to think a Democrat would challenge him.
Newsom explained, “I’ve told everyone in the White House, from the chief of staff to the first lady” that he is “all in” on supporting President Biden again in 2024.
Rumors about Newsom running in 2024 start spreading within the Democratic party after lawmakers started considering President Biden’s health, age and low approval ratings.
President Biden however has left the door open about whether or not he will run. Recently Biden himself said, “I think everybody wants me to run, but we’re going to have discussions about it. I hope Jill and I get a little time to sneak away for a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and my guess is it will be early next year when we make that judgment.”
It’s important to remember that while Newsom is now saying that he won’t run, he may be doing all of this to calm the mainstream media rumors. He may very well run even though he said he isn’t. Newsom and the Democrats may just be looking for a better time to announce his run.
