Speaker Johnson Endorses Trump
Johnson Praises Trump’s Law-and-Order Leadership
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is calling for President Donald Trump to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, crediting his leadership in restoring law and order in Washington, D.C. Johnson pointed to a stunning 11-day stretch with zero murders after Trump assumed control of the city’s troubled police force.
Johnson posted on social media that President Trump has countless reasons to be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize, but noted that achieving 11 straight days without a single murder in Washington, D.C. may be the strongest case yet. He added, “Safer streets, stronger communities — America is back.”
Trump’s Action Brings Results in Crime-Ridden Capital
The praise followed new data shared by the White House communications team showing no homicides between August 14–24. That crime-free window came immediately after Trump moved decisively to take charge of the D.C. Metropolitan Police on August 11.
Since his action, only two killings have been reported—one on August 11 and another on August 13—before the 11-day murder-free stretch.
While not the longest homicide-free span this year, the results highlight a clear contrast between Trump’s leadership and years of Democrat failure. So far, 2025 has recorded 101 murders in the city, compared to 118 during the same period last year, according to official police data.
Trump vs. Obama: A Nobel Worth Earning
President Trump has long stated his desire to win the Nobel Peace Prize — an award handed to former President Barack Obama even before his presidency delivered any measurable results. Critics have argued that if Obama could win for promises, Trump deserves recognition for action.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed he nominated Trump for the award, citing his role in peace accords and global stability. Now, with Washington experiencing safer streets under Trump’s direction, conservatives say the case for recognition is undeniable.
A Turning Point for America’s Cities?
Trump’s swift results in Washington send a clear message: strong conservative leadership can restore order, protect families, and rebuild communities. With Democrats presiding over years of rising crime, Trump’s success in the capital may serve as a blueprint for law-and-order policies nationwide.
