Liberals Shocked To Agree With MTG
In a jaw-dropping moment on CNN, former Obama White House adviser David Axelrod openly agreed with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), saying the outspoken conservative was “absolutely right” about the growing discontent sweeping across America.
“Well, I’m in the kind of astonishing position of saying I agree with every word that Marjorie Taylor Greene said,” Axelrod admitted during a live CNN segment with Kaitlan Collins. “I’ve never said those words before — we’re making news right here.”
Axelrod’s rare admission came after Tuesday’s elections showed Democrats winning key races, which he said reflected voter frustration with the economy, inflation, and political gridlock.
“The president got elected because people were very unhappy with the economy — and it hasn’t changed for the better,” Axelrod said.
Axelrod: Americans Don’t Feel Any Better Off
The longtime Democratic strategist pointed to a new Economist/YouGov poll showing 54% of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, while just 21% say things are improving.
“People feel it every time they go to the grocery store, fill their gas tanks, or pay their utility bills,” Axelrod said. “They know what’s happening at the cash register — and they know Washington isn’t focused on them.”
Axelrod criticized the administration’s obsession with image and optics. “They see the president hosting parties, talking about the Nobel Prize, remodeling the Lincoln Bedroom — and they’re asking, ‘What does this have to do with my life?’” he said.
The former Obama adviser even compared the tone coming out of Washington to Joe Biden’s failed messaging, warning:
“You can’t talk people into feeling what they’re not experiencing.”
Greene Slams GOP Speaker Over Shutdown Failure
Meanwhile, Marjorie Taylor Greene has been turning up the heat on her own party’s leadership, taking direct aim at House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) for what she calls a weak response to the ongoing government shutdown.
On NewsNation, Greene blasted Johnson for keeping lawmakers home instead of forcing votes on key spending bills.
“While Americans are going to work every day, Mike Johnson is telling members of Congress to stay home. That’s an utter failure,” she said.
Greene also called out Johnson last week for refusing to release details of a Republican health care plan, posting on X:
“Apparently I have to go into a SCIF just to find out the GOP health care proposal!”
Her bold criticism reflects growing frustration among conservatives who want real accountability, not excuses.
Speaker Johnson Responds — But Greene Isn’t Backing Down
In response, Johnson downplayed the tension during an interview with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith podcast Straight Shooter, saying:
“She can come talk to me anytime. But she likes the big interviews — that’s fine. Everyone has that right.”
Despite Johnson’s calm response, Greene’s message is clear — Republicans must stand up, show up, and stop surrendering to Democrat pressure while everyday Americans continue to suffer under skyrocketing prices and global instability.
The Takeaway: Even Democrats See the Writing on the Wall
When even Obama’s closest adviser starts echoing Marjorie Taylor Greene, you know something has shifted. Americans are tired of excuses. They’re tired of politicians pretending things are fine while groceries, gas, and housing costs keep climbing.
Axelrod’s comments reveal what many in Washington refuse to admit — the American people are fed up, and they want strong, decisive leadership that puts America First again.
As one conservative commentator put it, “If Axelrod is saying it on CNN, you know voters are finally waking up.”
