Speaker Johnson Gets Pressed With New Question

President Trump is taking bold steps to restore law and order—and Republicans are rallying behind him.

Trump’s Tough-On-Crime Leadership

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) defended President Trump’s plan to expand National Guard deployments in America’s most dangerous cities. Johnson said the federal government has a duty to protect families when local officials refuse to act.

Earlier this month, Trump declared a public safety emergency in Washington, D.C. He took control of the city’s police force and deployed the National Guard to stop violent crime. The administration praised the results as an immediate success.

Louisiana Sends Troops to Help Trump

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry (R) quickly answered Trump’s call by sending 135 National Guard troops from Louisiana to Washington. Their mission: support Trump’s effort to crack down on crime and keep American families safe.

Trump has already hinted he may expand the program to other Democrat-run cities plagued by violence.

Johnson Pressed on Shreveport’s Crime Problem

CNN pointed out that Shreveport—Johnson’s own district—has a violent crime rate even higher than Washington, D.C. According to FBI data, Shreveport’s crime numbers outpace both Louisiana’s state average and the nation’s capital.

Johnson didn’t deny the problem but put the blame where it belongs—on weak Democrat leadership.

“We have a Democrat district attorney there who has not been prosecuting crime aggressively,” Johnson explained. “It’s an urban area with the same problems we’re seeing across the country, and it must be addressed.”

The Bigger Picture: Democrats Ignore Crime, Trump Confronts It

The contrast couldn’t be clearer. While Democrat prosecutors let criminals walk free, President Trump and Republican leaders are willing to take action. From Washington, D.C. to Louisiana, the law-and-order agenda is back—and Americans concerned about safety are taking notice.
