Ocasio-Cortez Attacks Republican
At a highly partisan rally in northern Colorado, far-left lawmakers Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) took aim at Rep. Gabe Evans (R-CO), accusing him of failing his constituents—despite Evans’s strong record of service since taking office in January.
Ocasio-Cortez Says Voters “Deserve Better”
Speaking at the second stop of her “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, Ocasio-Cortez told a crowd that Rep. Evans hadn’t held a town hall and implied he wasn’t working hard enough.
“You’d think someone new on the job would be at their best,” she said. “If this is all you’re getting, you deserve better.”
Progressive Attacks on Evans Over Spending Bill
Ocasio-Cortez continued by accusing Evans and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) of supporting a Republican-backed spending plan that, according to Democrats, might impact Medicaid funding. However, the facts tell a different story.
Evans Responds: “Fighting for Lower Costs and Safer Communities”
A spokesperson for Congressman Evans dismissed the attacks as desperate political theater, calling Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders “extreme voices” pushing a radical agenda.
“Congressman Gabe Evans is focused on lowering costs, protecting our communities, and making the American Dream achievable for every Coloradan,” the spokesperson said. “That’s a sharp contrast to AOC and Bernie’s anti-energy, big-government policies.”
Evans’s team noted that he has conducted over 300 meetings with constituents and held 45 media interviews in just the first few months of his term—proving he’s listening and leading.
False Claims About Medicaid Debunked
Despite the claims made at the rally, Evans did not vote to cut Medicaid. In fact, a legal threat from the National Republican Congressional Committee recently forced a left-wing group to take down misleading billboards targeting Evans and other GOP lawmakers.
A Critical Race in a Toss-Up District
Colorado’s 8th Congressional District is shaping up to be a key battleground in 2024. The nonpartisan Cook Political Report rates the race as a toss-up—making every vote count.
As the far-left ramps up its attacks, voters in Colorado have a clear choice: common-sense leadership that puts Americans first, or divisive politics that tear communities apart.
