Trump Ally Leading Key Race
A Red State at a Crossroads — and Mace May Be the Firewall
South Carolina Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R) is topping the charts in a new poll of likely Republican voters, edging out other GOP hopefuls in what could become one of the most closely watched governor’s races in America.
In a just-released poll by the South Carolina Policy Council, Mace secured 16% support among Republican-identifying voters — narrowly beating State Attorney General Alan Wilson, who came in at 15%. Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette drew 8%, while Rep. Ralph Norman landed at 6%, and State Sen. Josh Kimbrell earned 3%. But here’s the kicker: a massive 52% remain undecided, signaling a wide-open contest in a deeply conservative state.
“I may be forced to run,” Mace told Fox News, “because I can’t stand by and watch my beautiful red state go woke.”
Mace has been dropping strong hints in recent days. On Monday, she posted a teaser on social media promising a “special announcement” and “big things ahead.”
Conservatives Eye Mace as the Trump-Backed Fighter to Keep South Carolina Red
If she jumps in, Mace would be running to replace outgoing GOP Governor Henry McMaster, who is term-limited. But she’s already sharpening her message against Attorney General Alan Wilson, suggesting the race would come down to the two of them.
“If I get in, it’s a two-man race. Alan Wilson puts pedophiles on trial and gives them one day in jail,” Mace charged. “That’s not justice. That’s not conservative.”
Mace is no political rookie. She flipped the 1st Congressional District red in 2020 and was re-elected in 2022 by double digits. She is a staunch ally of President Donald J. Trump, backing him over former Gov. Nikki Haley in the 2024 GOP primary.
Interestingly, Haley has since endorsed Ralph Norman — a move many conservatives see as a nod to the establishment.
Democrats in Disarray: 83% Still Undecided in South Carolina
On the Democrat side, the outlook is bleak. A staggering 83% of Democrat-aligned voters in the same poll remain undecided. No major names have committed. The only active Democrat is Rep. Jermaine Johnson, who formed an exploratory committee last month.
The seat is considered safely Republican, with the Cook Political Report labeling it as “Solid Republican” — indicating that the GOP nominee is heavily favored to win in the general election.
Trump Country Is Watching — and Conservatives Are Ready to Fight Back
With the woke agenda creeping into traditionally conservative states, many Republican voters see this race as a last stand to protect their values.
Will Nancy Mace step up to stop the liberal overreach in South Carolina?
Polls show the momentum is on her side, and with over half the GOP base still undecided, her entry could shake up the 2026 election landscape.
