Trump’s White House Fires Back At Jane Fonda

The White House has a clear message for Hollywood activist Jane Fonda: she may spout her anti-American views, but President Trump will always defend free speech for all Americans.

Fonda, best known for her radical anti-Vietnam War activism that earned her the nickname “Hanoi Jane,” announced this week that she is reviving the Committee for the First Amendment — a group first organized in 1947 during the McCarthy era.

Now at 87 years old, Fonda claims the federal government is waging a “coordinated campaign” to silence critics in the media, the courts, academia, and entertainment. She described today’s climate as “the most frightening moment of my life.” More than 600 Hollywood elites have reportedly signed on to her effort.

But the Trump White House pushed back hard. Press secretary Abigail Jackson said:

“Jane Fonda can voice whatever misguided opinions she chooses. President Trump, unlike his critics, has personally experienced censorship and remains a steadfast defender of free speech. Claims from Democrats suggesting otherwise are nothing short of ridiculous.”

Jackson also stressed that the real threats to America’s liberty don’t come from President Trump, but from left-wing extremist groups. These organizations, she said, have fueled violent riots, launched coordinated attacks against law enforcement, organized illegal doxing campaigns, and even set up weapon drop points to incite chaos across U.S. cities.

For millions of conservatives, Fonda’s political comeback is a reminder of her decades-long record of siding with America’s enemies and trashing the country that gave her fame and fortune. Her latest “Committee for the First Amendment” campaign looks like just another Hollywood attempt to smear President Trump and undermine his defense of the Constitution.

The White House made it clear: Trump will never silence Americans — even his critics. Instead, his administration is focused on protecting free speech, defending law enforcement, and keeping America safe from violent left-wing radicals.
