Trump’s Economic Goal Revealed

As Democrats continue pushing an “affordability crisis” narrative aimed at President Donald Trump, veteran political strategist and presidential adviser Dick Morris says the claims don’t match economic reality.

Instead, Morris argues that President Trump is repairing economic damage caused by past Democratic policies — and voters are beginning to recognize the difference.

Speaking during a recent television interview, Morris said the political and economic messaging landscape is shifting rapidly in Republicans’ favor.

“The environment is changing dramatically,” Morris explained. “Republicans are starting to win the messaging war, and that matters because people vote based on how the economy feels in their daily lives.”

Strong Growth, Cooling Inflation Under Trump

Morris pointed to current economic indicators that he says already show improvement under President Trump’s leadership. According to Morris, the economy is experiencing approximately 4% growth, while inflation has eased to around 3% — a notable change after years of rising prices.

And he believes the outlook is getting better.

“We’re sitting at what I call ‘four and three’ right now,” Morris said, referring to growth and inflation. “But the goal is to move toward ‘five and two.’ That means boosting economic growth to 5% while bringing inflation down to 2%.”

Morris added that former Trump economic adviser Larry Kudlow has publicly stated those targets are realistic.

Why Small Economic Shifts Matter to Older Americans

While the difference between 4% and 5% growth — or 3% and 2% inflation — may sound minor, Morris emphasized that the impact is anything but small, especially for seniors and retirees.

“For people on fixed incomes, lower inflation is everything,” he said. “Even a one-point drop means real relief at the grocery store, the gas pump, and the pharmacy counter.”

Higher growth, he added, also strengthens retirement accounts, pensions, and overall economic stability.

“These are the kinds of changes that restore confidence,” Morris said. “And President Trump has already put the pieces in place.”

A Different Economic Climate Ahead

Morris predicted Americans will soon begin to feel a noticeable shift in the economy, driven by Trump’s policies and leadership.

“I think the next few weeks and months are going to feel very different,” he said. “There’s a change coming, and people are going to sense it in their everyday lives.”

As Democrats continue attacking Trump on affordability, Morris says voters may soon judge the issue based less on talking points — and more on their own experience.
