Democrat Plays April Fool’s Joke On Trump
Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D) is making headlines — and not in a good way. In what many are calling a tasteless stunt, the liberal governor used April Fool’s Day to mock President Donald J. Trump, drawing fierce backlash from conservative voters and patriotic Americans.
▶ Polis Posts Cartoon “Portrait” to Mock Trump
On April 1st, Governor Polis took to social media to share what he claimed was his new “official portrait.” But instead of a dignified image honoring his role as a state leader, he posted a South Park-style cartoon, poking fun at President Trump’s criticism of a distorted painting of himself in the Colorado Capitol.
“No one likes an unflattering photo or painting of themselves,” Polis wrote, taking a jab at Trump. “Which is why I went in a different direction for my official portrait.”
The post was filled with sarcasm, and featured a crudely drawn, animated-style image clearly designed for laughs—not leadership.
▶ President Trump Fires Back: “Purposefully Distorted”
Just days earlier, President Trump had called out Colorado’s Capitol for displaying what he described as a “purposefully distorted” portrait of him.
“Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves,” Trump said in a March statement. “But the one in Colorado… was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before.”
The painting, which hangs alongside portraits of past presidents, has been widely criticized by Republican lawmakers and Trump supporters for its disrespectful depiction.
▶ Did Polis Commission the Anti-Trump Portrait?
While Democrats were quick to claim that Governor Polis wasn’t in office when the painting was commissioned in 2019, many voters aren’t buying the excuse.
Despite not personally approving the Trump portrait, Polis is now mocking the former president publicly—and using taxpayer-funded institutions to do it.
▶ Republican Lawmakers Demand Respect—and Action
Outraged by the portrait and the governor’s stunt, Republican lawmakers have demanded the image be removed. Many have called it an embarrassment to the state and an insult to millions of Americans who support President Trump.
Democrats in the Colorado House responded with sarcasm, saying the GOP was welcome to “spend time and money” if they want something new. It’s the kind of dismissive attitude that’s become all too common among today’s progressive elites.
Americans Deserve Better from Their Leaders
At a time when Americans are facing serious issues—soaring inflation, border chaos, and global unrest—liberal politicians like Jared Polis are busy playing childish games on social media.
This isn’t just about a painting. It’s about respect for the presidency, respect for American values, and the deep cultural divide between traditional patriotism and left-wing mockery.
Do you believe President Trump deserves a respectful portrait like every other U.S. President?
