Trump, GOP Needs Vance Again

Washington, D.C. – Senate Republicans are pushing back against bloated government spending with a powerful new rescissions package—slashing $9.4 billion in waste, including massive cuts to foreign aid and taxpayer handouts to left-wing media outlets like NPR and PBS.

But once again, a few moderate Republicans are throwing up roadblocks.

America First Budget Cuts on the Line

The Trump administration’s proposal, already passed by the House, includes:

  • $8.3 billion cut to wasteful foreign aid programs
  • $1.1 billion cut from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which funds NPR and PBS—networks conservatives say are blatantly biased against President Trump

This commonsense legislation is being met with resistance from a handful of Senate Republicans—even though it’s critical to enacting Trump’s America First spending agenda.

RINOs Join Democrats in Threatening Conservative Victory

Senators Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Susan Collins (R-ME), along with Mitch McConnell (R-KY), voted against advancing the bill Tuesday. Murkowski claims rural Alaskans rely on public broadcasting, despite acknowledging NPR’s increasing partisan tilt.

“You don’t need to gut the entire Corporation for Public Broadcasting,” Murkowski said.

Despite opposition, the package survived—thanks to Vice President JD Vance, who cast the tiebreaking vote, just as he did to push through Trump’s One Big, Beautiful Bill Act earlier this month.

Time Running Out: Trump Ready to Sign

Congress has until midnight Friday to get the bill to President Trump’s desk. If not, the administration must release the funds—sending your hard-earned taxpayer dollars to foreign countries and biased broadcasters.

The White House has already agreed to preserve $400 million in AIDS relief funding, maintaining the program at $9 billion—demonstrating flexibility while staying committed to cutting waste.

OMB Transparency Sparks Senate Showdown

Sens. Collins and McConnell say the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has failed to provide clear breakdowns of what foreign aid programs would be cut.

“OMB is the problem,” said McConnell. “They want a blank check—and that’s not appropriate.”

Collins added, “We haven’t received the information we need. The details are missing.”

Senators Rally to Defend Taxpayer Dollars

Two key Republicans—Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS) and Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK)—voted to advance the bill after negotiating assurances that key agricultural programs like Food for Peace would be protected.

“Congress should pass the President’s rescission package to save taxpayer dollars,” Moran said.

With President Trump leading the charge, this legislation is a bold step to:

  • Cut foreign giveaways
  • Defund biased media
  • Protect farmers
  • And restore fiscal sanity

Why This Matters to You

This isn’t just about numbers—it’s about taking back control of where your money goes. While Democrats and a few RINOs defend foreign interests and liberal broadcasters, Trump and conservative Republicans are working to put America First—just like they promised.
