Should Trump Have James Comey Arrested?

Ocasio-Cortez Failing Badly

Since Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) took office in 2019, violent crime in her district—covering portions of Queens and the Bronx—has increased dramatically, sparking growing alarm among local residents and former supporters.

According to New York Police Department data reviewed by the New York Post, major crimes—including murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, grand larceny, and auto theft—have risen by 70% in the 14th Congressional District under Ocasio-Cortez’s watch.

In specific neighborhoods, the increase is even more drastic. In Queens’ 110th Precinct, major crime has surged over 100% in just five years.

For comparison, crime across the rest of New York City rose approximately 30% during the same time period.

Residents Speak Out Amid Safety Fears

Many local residents now say they feel abandoned and unsafe in their own communities.

“She doesn’t live here, she’s not here, and she clearly doesn’t understand what we’re going through,” said Guadelupe Alvarez, a lifelong Elmhurst resident and former AOC supporter. “I used to believe in her message. Now, I just want to move out. It’s no longer safe to raise a family.”

These sentiments reflect a broader sense of frustration as many constituents point to Ocasio-Cortez’s focus on national progressive issues, such as climate policy and social media activism, rather than on crime prevention, neighborhood safety, and police support at the local level.

Critics Point to “Soft-on-Crime” Policies

Critics argue that Ocasio-Cortez’s embrace of far-left policies—including support for reduced law enforcement budgets—has created a climate where criminals feel emboldened and law-abiding citizens feel forgotten.

“She champions slogans like ‘Defund the Police,’ but who’s defending the people who live here?” asked one community organizer. “The results speak for themselves.”

As New Yorkers continue to grapple with rising crime and declining quality of life, many are questioning whether the current leadership in the district is truly serving the people—or pushing a political agenda at their expense.
