Trump’s New Gift To America’s Parents
President Donald J. Trump has announced two major initiatives to make in vitro fertilization (IVF) more affordable and accessible for American families—delivering on one of his key campaign promises to support life, family, and the American dream.
Trump’s Pro-Family Vision: IVF for Working Americans
Speaking from the Oval Office, President Trump revealed that his administration is issuing new guidance allowing employers to include IVF coverage as part of their company health insurance plans—similar to how dental and vision benefits work. The move, developed by the Departments of Labor, Treasury, and Health and Human Services, gives businesses the green light to offer fertility benefits to their employees voluntarily.
“Families deserve every opportunity to grow,” Trump said. “We’re making it easier and more affordable than ever before.”
While the new policy doesn’t require employers to offer IVF coverage, it provides a clear path for companies that choose to do so. Officials say the cost of the benefit will depend on an employer’s contributions and plan structure.
Lower Drug Prices Through Trump’s ‘Most Favored Nation’ Policy
In a separate announcement, Trump unveiled a major cost-cutting agreement with global pharmaceutical company EMD Serono, the world’s largest manufacturer of fertility drugs. The company agreed to offer massive discounts—up to 84% off list prices—on its top IVF treatments, including the popular hormone injection Gonal-F.
“EMD Serono has agreed to provide massive discounts to all fertility drugs they sell in the United States,” Trump said, hailing the deal as a win for American families and proof that his “most favored nation” pricing plan works.
Libby Horne, EMD Serono’s U.S. vice president, confirmed the unprecedented discount, adding that the company has also submitted another treatment, Pergoveris, for fast-track FDA review under the National Priority Voucher program.
The ‘Fertilization President’ Delivers
Trump has proudly referred to himself as “the fertilization president,” and for good reason. Earlier this year, he signed an executive order directing federal agencies to find ways to lower IVF costs nationwide. Typical IVF treatments can cost between $15,000 and $20,000 per cycle—often putting them out of reach for middle-class families.
Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) have been key allies in Trump’s IVF push, introducing legislation to expand access nationwide. “This is the most pro-IVF action any president has ever taken,” Britt said from the Oval Office.
Standing Strong Amid Democrat Attacks
Democrats have tried to distort Trump’s stance, blaming him for Alabama’s 2024 court ruling that temporarily halted IVF services after declaring frozen embryos equal to children. The ruling sparked national outrage and led Alabama lawmakers to pass protections for IVF providers.
Still, Trump’s record speaks for itself—his administration is focused on cutting costs, empowering families, and protecting the right to grow one’s family through modern medicine.
A President Focused on Results
While critics harp on bureaucratic reshuffles, Trump’s actions consistently reflect his pro-family agenda. From lowering prescription drug costs to expanding IVF access, his administration continues to prove that conservative leadership can deliver compassionate, practical solutions for working Americans.
Bottom line: Under President Trump, America’s families—especially those struggling to conceive—are finally getting the hope and help they deserve.
