President Donald Trump is cracking down on taxpayer waste once again—this time by targeting PBS and NPR, two government-funded media outlets long accused of pushing far-left ideology disguised as children’s education.

As part of a $9 billion federal spending rollback, the Trump administration is moving to strip more than $1 billion from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB)—the funding source for PBS and NPR.

“Every Republican must support my Rescissions Bill—especially the part that cuts off funding to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which includes PBS and NPR. They’re even more biased than CNN and MSNBC combined,” President Trump stated on Truth Social.

Conservatives Say: Stop Using Our Tax Dollars for Liberal Indoctrination

While left-wing activists sound the alarm over potential cuts to PBS Kids and so-called “educational programming,” millions of American taxpayers are asking why their hard-earned money is funding drag queens, gender ideology, and anti-American messaging.

“Families are tired of their tax dollars going towards woke indoctrination from PBS like LGBTQ youth guides, ‘gender-diverse’ maps, and children’s shows featuring drag queens,” said a spokesperson for the Office of Management and Budget. “President Trump is finally putting an end to it.”

PBS has long branded itself as a source of quality education. But in recent years, it has come under fire for producing content that promotes radical gender theory, critical race ideology, and left-wing social agendas—even in programming aimed at children as young as four.

Outrage Grows Over Politicized “Educational” Content

Content once focused on reading and math has shifted to controversial themes:

In May, Trump’s Department of Education canceled $23 million in grants linked to PBS’s “Ready To Learn” program after discovering it had morphed into a political project focused on “racial justice.”

“We were focused on workforce readiness, not radical social experiments,” said Sara DeWitt, Senior VP at PBS Kids, acknowledging the shift.

Studies once showed that PBS content helped with literacy. But today, critics argue the network has sacrificed education for indoctrination—and taxpayers are footing the bill.

Time to Let the Market Decide

While PBS defenders warn that rural communities may lose access to educational material, conservative leaders argue parents have better, more aligned choices through faith-based platforms, homeschooling resources, and private education tools.

And the idea that PBS couldn’t survive without federal handouts? Many Americans disagree.

“PBS should compete in the free market just like everyone else,” said a parent coalition leader. “If their content is valuable, people will pay for it. If it’s just propaganda, then good riddance.”

Trump’s Message to Congress: Defund the Bias or Lose My Support

With the rescissions package expected to pass this week, President Trump has sent a clear message to Republicans:

“Any Republican who votes to keep funding these left-wing broadcasters will NOT have my endorsement,” he warned.
