Should Trump Be Firing Federal Employees?

Gov. Shutdown Benefits Trump?

As the shutdown deadline approaches, Democrats are in full panic mode — and Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) just admitted why. He openly told reporters Tuesday that a shutdown would actually strengthen President Donald Trump.

“The president has a lot of levers he could pull. This is one we could pull — but why would we? Because that allows him to pull even more,” Fetterman said on Capitol Hill. He went even further, saying a shutdown would be “ideal for Project 2025,” the conservative Heritage Foundation’s plan to restore America under Trump’s second term.

Democrats and Republicans at a Standstill

If no deal is reached by Wednesday morning, the government will officially shut down. Both sides are blaming each other, but voters see through the noise.

Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) confirmed the Senate would begin votes Tuesday evening:

  • The Democrat plan: Extend funding only through October, make Obamacare subsidies permanent, and reverse nearly $1 trillion in common-sense Medicaid savings.
  • The Republican plan: Fund the government through November 21 without adding massive new spending or left-wing giveaways.

Neither plan is expected to pass — meaning Washington gridlock continues.

Fetterman: Shutdown “Perfect” for Trump

Even Democrats are admitting the truth. Fetterman warned that a shutdown would “plunge the nation into chaos” but also empower President Trump politically.

While the Left tries to scare seniors with talk of lost benefits, the facts tell a different story: Social Security checks will still go out, essential services continue, and federal workers are repaid retroactively after government reopens.

The real chaos is Democrat spending — record debt, sky-high inflation, and failed programs that hurt families.

Trump White House Pushes for Stability

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday that President Trump “wants to keep the government open” and is committed to protecting taxpayers.

Behind the scenes, the Trump administration is also preparing agencies to streamline and cut waste. Since January, the President has worked to downsize bloated bureaucracy and restore accountability — efforts constantly blocked by activist judges and entrenched Washington insiders.

The Big Picture

Democrats thought a shutdown would harm Trump. Instead, their own members now admit it could backfire — giving Trump more momentum heading into 2025.

Once again, President Trump shows leadership while Democrats play politics with America’s future.
