Trump Fires Back At Russia

President Donald J. Trump delivered a stern warning early Thursday to former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev after the Kremlin insider took aim at Trump’s foreign policy approach. Trump didn’t mince words, telling Medvedev to “watch his words” or risk escalating tensions.

Taking to Truth Social, President Trump addressed Medvedev’s remarks with a no-nonsense tone:
“I don’t care what India does with Russia. Let them crash their dead economies together. We do very little business with India — their tariffs are some of the highest in the world,” he posted.

Trump continued, making it clear that the U.S. has minimal trade with Russia and has no interest in changing that.
“Same with Russia — almost no trade with the U.S., and that’s how it should stay. Medvedev, a failed former Russian President who acts like he still holds power, needs to be very careful. He’s walking into dangerous territory,” Trump wrote.

Since returning to the Oval Office in January, President Trump has made it a top priority to broker an end to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. Despite multiple attempts at ceasefire negotiations, both sides have dragged their feet. Trump has grown increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress and is now applying serious pressure.

Earlier this month, he issued a bold 50-day deadline for Moscow and Kyiv to reach a peace agreement — warning of sweeping new sanctions if they fail. That warning extends not just to Russia but to its global partners, especially India, which has continued to buy Russian oil and military hardware.

“We will hit India with a 25% tariff if they don’t rethink their alliance with Moscow,” Trump declared this week, calling out the Modi government for cozying up to Putin’s regime.

President Trump also hinted that the deadline could be moved up, signaling that decisive action against Russia could come even sooner — possibly within days. Speaking from Scotland alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump said fresh sanctions could be imposed within “10 to 12 days” if Russia doesn’t shift course.

In response, Medvedev lashed out, accusing Trump of playing a “dangerous ultimatum game” and warning of broader consequences.
“Trump should remember Russia isn’t Iran or Israel,” Medvedev said on X, formerly Twitter. “Every ultimatum pushes us closer to war — not just with Ukraine, but with the United States.”
He ended with a jab at Trump: “Don’t go down the Sleepy Joe road,” invoking Trump’s nickname for Joe Biden.

But while the Kremlin fumes, Trump remains firm. He’s made it clear that under his leadership, the United States will stand strong, put American interests first, and hold both adversaries and allies accountable.
