Veteran left-wing pundit Chuck Todd is taking aim at President Donald Trump for launching a bold new crackdown on illegal immigration—this time zeroing in on Democrat-run sanctuary cities that have long defied federal immigration law.

On Sunday, President Trump issued a direct order on Truth Social, calling on ICE agents to “do all in their power” to carry out mass deportations in major cities like Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago—where far-left leaders have shielded illegal immigrants from federal enforcement.

“These cities are the backbone of Democrat political control,” Trump said. “They rely on illegal immigrants to inflate their voting numbers, manipulate elections, and expand government handouts—taking jobs and resources away from hardworking American citizens.”

The president’s message was clear: Democrat-led cities have become havens for criminal activity, election fraud, and taxpayer abuse—all under the false banner of “compassion.”

Chuck Todd: ICE Is Being “Politicized”

Chuck Todd, former host of NBC’s Meet the Press, lashed out in a post on X (formerly Twitter), accusing Trump of “politicizing law enforcement.”

“He’s asking ICE to perform a political task,” Todd wrote, ignoring the fact that ICE’s mission is to enforce federal immigration laws—something Democrat mayors have repeatedly blocked.

Todd’s comments come amid growing left-wing protests, some erupting into violent riots, in response to Trump’s immigration policy. But the president isn’t backing down.

Trump: Without Action, Cities Would Have “Burned to the Ground”

President Trump defended his stance, warning that cities like Los Angeles would have descended into chaos without federal intervention. “If we hadn’t acted, they would’ve burned to the ground,” he said—referencing looting, destruction, and anti-ICE riots triggered by radical activists.

The president also criticized the Left for trying to silence law enforcement and reward illegal border crossings with free benefits, driver’s licenses, and even voter privileges in some states.
