Republican Leading New Jan 6th Inquiry
Washington, D.C. – House Republicans have approved a powerful new subcommittee to re-investigate the events of January 6, aiming to uncover evidence they say Democrats intentionally ignored.
Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) will lead the high-profile probe, bringing extensive experience in congressional oversight and a track record of challenging the Democrat narrative on January 6. The move comes as conservatives demand answers and accountability for what many view as a partisan witch hunt orchestrated by Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats.
New Committee Targets Truth Democrats “Refused to Investigate”
The framework for this new investigative panel was first proposed shortly after President Donald Trump returned to the White House. After months of planning, the resolution to form the committee was officially introduced in July and gained final approval on Wednesday.
Loudermilk previously chaired the Subcommittee on Oversight, which, in March 2024, released a bombshell report exposing “the massive security failures of January 6th — failures House Democrats chose to cover up rather than confront.”
Republicans say this new panel will shine a light on the facts that Pelosi’s January 6 Committee deliberately ignored, including President Trump’s early efforts to ensure additional security before the rally.
Loudermilk Directly Challenges Pelosi’s Narrative
For years, Democrats and the media have blamed President Trump for the chaos at the Capitol, claiming he failed to act. Loudermilk has been a vocal opponent of that claim, calling it a “political smear campaign” designed to damage Trump ahead of the 2026 midterms and 2028 election.
On August 12, Loudermilk publicly fact-checked Pelosi after she repeated her accusation that Trump didn’t protect the Capitol.
“Enough with the false accusations, @SpeakerPelosi,” Loudermilk wrote on social media. “Last year, my subcommittee conducted a REAL investigation into January 6 and uncovered documented proof that President Trump ordered the National Guard to be ready for deployment days before January 6, 2021.”
He added that Pelosi admitted on camera that the breakdown in Capitol security was her responsibility, not President Trump’s.
Committee Structure and Timeline
The new panel will consist of eight members, with three seats reserved for Democrats to be appointed by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.). Once all positions are filled, Loudermilk is expected to release a full schedule of hearings and investigative actions.
The committee’s final report is expected to be released by December 2026, just ahead of the next presidential election cycle, making its findings potentially politically explosive.
Why This Matters for America
This investigation could reshape the narrative about January 6 and provide vindication for President Trump and his supporters. Conservatives argue that the original January 6 Committee was a one-sided, Democrat-run operation designed to smear Trump, silence conservative voices, and manipulate public opinion before the 2024 and 2026 elections.
By focusing on transparency and accountability, Loudermilk’s team aims to reveal what really happened — and who was truly responsible for the security breakdown that day.
